dj twopointzero mix – NYE 2006/2007 with The Cheat!

Well, it’s been a damn long time since I posted a mix here on djtwopointzero.ca, but I hope you’ve stuck around and that it’ll be worth the wait. This time around I have something very different to share, the kind of thing I’ve been looking forward to posting here for a long time now: instead of a new releases mix (which are great because they are easy to put together but crappy in that there aren’t always that many great tracks coming out at a given time of year) you’re gettin’ a chance to spin up not one, not two, not three, but four hours of my favourite tracks from 2006 along with more than a few hits from recent years, all in the form of my New Year’s Eve 2006/2007 dj set.

This mix features 75 songs all told, most of these mixed harmonically. Harmonic mixing is something I’m loving but still getting used to. I’ve done it intuitively for more than a decade, but a) not with a full catalogue of keys at hand and b) not with such intent of putting them to use everywhere possible. I’m still working a few things out (in other words, I did get caught out from time to time, but that’s just the price you pay for posting a live mix set) but I’m sure you’ll already hear the difference. Actually, you’ll probably not notice the difference, just that time is slipping away more quickly, which is exactly what I want. :)

Due to the length of this podcast, together with my usual desire to post files of a quality that are at least listenable, this podcast is only available in 128k AAC format (and is still 250MB!), so apologies in advance to the ‘mp3-only’ visitors out there. :P
