The Shiny Metal Ass-Shakers are being graced with a good balance of glitchy minimal beats and electro-infused house this week. First up, some tasty electro from Alex Kenji, with his fellow Alex, Alex Grani, on the mix. Up next, some minimal beats from the ever-present Betrieb, with the glitchy Orange. Bouncing back to the electro side of the fence for a moment, Rendez-Vous At Night’s driving syncopated synth action really gets the machine funk going. Fourth on the list, Johannes Heil’s very strong Freaks R Us. You might remember this from the recent Shiny Metal Ass-Shakers mix set, which Freaks R Us snuck into on account of hitting the release list right before the mix set was recorded. (If you haven’t heard the mix set yet, be sure to check it out!) Up next, Litwinenko manages to be both glitchy and very funky at the same time, helped a good bit by chopped up guitar samples and a nice back-beat. Pushing farther out into the minimal sound (and over towards techno) is Phil Stumf’s Eleven. Second to last this week we have Texture’s recommendation to do a Registry Check, bringing us a still glitchy but, more notably, darker bouncy minimal sound. Last up, the pure electro Superdiscount Remix of Out The Door by the unstoppable Who Made Who.
