The Cheat is hanging out over on the rockier side of the room this week, with nary a new wave’r in sight. Starting things off, a rather strong instrumental remix of a not-so-stong Azzido Da Bass track, probably the most electronically-tilted track of this week’s list. Dino joins the lists yet again this week with the TV ROCK remix of “Call Me”, bringing with it what every good The Cheat list needs: hand claps and monkeys. Yes, monkeys. Female vocals, fat pads, and wood bass abound as King Roc joins us again with an electroclash track solid enough to avoid the remix treatment. Squat 84’s “Good Stuff”, which made the Mothership-Funkin’ House list this week as a dub mix, brings back the vocals and eighties sound-alike guitars in the Klonhertz Extended Mix. Finishing off The Cheat for the week is Static Revenger with a dub mix that works quite nicely but that could afford to bang a bit harder. Perhaps an even stronger remix or mash will make its way onto the new release lists shortly, as the track does have serious potential. Check it out!
