Another quiet week for new releases shortens the list yet again (what is it with February?), but at least there were a few bright notes here and there. Chilled house from Each matches the winter mood nicely, while Inland Knights’ combination of piano and sawtooth bass makes you long for a robotic jazz club where you can take refuge from the cold. As always, the Mothership-Funkin’ House always needs an eighties’-anchored track, and this week The Marathon Men are on the remix, bringing you some wah-wah guitar, old-school breaks, and analog sound effects. Squat 84’s “Good Stuff” is getting plenty of remixes this week, with Nick Morris’s Late At Nite Dub getting the nod for a ride on the Mothership. Finally, Syrup breaks out the hand claps and mid-tempo funky electronics to close out the list for the week.
